School Closings Information
In the event of a school closing for inclement weather or in case of an emergency, the Donovan School District will utilize the One Call Now automated telephone alert system to contact parents via a phone call or text to inform parents of school closings information as soon as possible.
Listen to WGFA radio (94.1 FM), WVLI radio (92.7 FM or 101.7) or WKAN radio (1320 AM) to announce school closings as they occur.
Parents: Please DO NOT call the school for school closings information.
If you are not receiving One Call Now alerts please contact Mrs. Legan at email@example.com to sign-up for the automated alert system.

Attention Parents & Caregivers:
The Donovan CUSD #3 School District has entered into an intergovernmental agreement with the Watseka Public Library that will provide all Donovan CUSD #3 students and employees a library card to the Watseka Public Library at no charge. The Watseka Library has access to over 10 million physical books and over 54,000 e-books. We are excited to provide and increase the educational resources for all Donovan students.
Please see this attached letter from Andy Jordan, Donovan Jr. Sr. High School Principal for more information about the new partnership.
The Donovan Community Unit School District will dismiss students every 2nd Wednesday of the month to allow all staff time for district training, staff meetings, and professional development. The Elementary school students will dismiss at 1:22 and the Jr/Sr high school students will dismiss at 1:30 on these days.
Please contact the Elementary School (815) 486-7321 or the Jr. / Sr. High School (815) 486-7395 with questions or concerns.
We look forward to providing the best education possible to your child(ren).
Dr. Eilers was a Donovan High School graduate in 1962. This scholarship will be able to fund full tuition to Bradley University for a DHS graduate who is majoring in science. This is roughly a $35,000 per year and roughly $140,000 scholarship total value for the recipient as it follows them through their four years at Bradley University that will be awarded every 4 years. The next time the scholarship will be awarded will be in the Spring of 2022. However, it is expected and anticipated that the Dr. James Eilers Scholarship Fund will grow and the group will eventually be able to award a full four-year tuition scholarship to Bradley University every other year.
The main focus of this scholarship is to fund a Donovan High School graduate for a degree in chemistry or physics; however, if no DHS scholarship applicants apply it will open up to any DHS applicants that major in anything science-related.
