  • Good Afternoon,

    • Your child's graduation time is: (Please see the schedule that was e-mailed to you and/or your child.)
    • Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time, so we can try to stay on schedule.
    • When you arrive at the school you will need to remain in your car.  Someone will come out to greet you and your graduate and escort you into the gym.
    • Four adult guardians/parents will be allowed to enter the building with the graduate.
    • Everyone must be wearing a mask at all times.
    • Graduates will be able to remove their masks to walk across the stage and receive their diploma.
    • We will be recording this LIVE as the graduate's name is being called and walking across the stage...feel free to applaud and cheer on your graduate just as you would normally!!! We are all proud of them! 🤩
    • After walking across the stage the student will get their picture taken with their diploma.  They may have 2 photos taken...one with and one without their mask if they want to have it both ways.
    • The graduate and family must immediately exit the building so we can escort the next student into the gym.

If you have any questions, please email me!! I will do my best to get you an answer. I am so excited to honor your children's accomplishments, as best as we can, during this pandemic!

  •  8th Grade Virtual Graduation

The Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education released a joint statement with guidelines on Saturday, May 2nd pertaining to graduation ceremonies.  The 8th grade graduation we have been planning for weeks follows their Individualized Ceremony at School model.

On Tuesday, May 26th or Wednesday, May 27th our 8th graders will come into the school and walk across the stage in the gym one at a time to receive their diploma.  Mrs. Siedentop will be working with 8th grade families to schedule a time to come into the gym on May 26th or May 27th.  We will take their photo and video as they accept their diplomas.  Strict guidelines only allow the 8th-grade graduate and their parents to come into the school.

After May 26th we will start working on creating a video piecing together the 8th-grade virtual graduation ceremony.  We hope to release the video on our Facebook page and school website for everyone to view a week or two after May 26th.

If you follow the news you might have seen the positive media coverage by ABC News and NBC News out of Chicago covering Bradley-Bourbonnais Senior Graduation this week.  Donovan’s 8th-grade virtual graduation model is identical to theirs.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the school.

Thank you and we look forward to celebrating our 8th-grade graduates!

    Mr. Andy Jordan, Ed.S.

Donovan Jr. Sr. High School Principal

  • Parents,

In order for Donovan to successfully prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, we need important information from our school families. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey below. We need parents to fill out a survey for each building that you have children currently in. If you have children currently at both buildings, please complete both surveys.

  • Donovan Jr. Sr. High School Q/A

When is the last day of school?

The last day of student attendance for K-12 students will be on Friday, May 15th.

     When is senior graduation?

Our senior class sponsors are working closely with the seniors on a special graduation ceremony.  We are planning for Friday, May 22nd at 6pm for a drive in and parade celebration.  The video of senior graduation will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and emailed to our students the following week.  More information to come.

     When is 8th grade graduation?

The video of the 8th grade graduation will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and emailed to our students on Friday, May 29th. We will be working with 8th graders to safely get them their diplomas and picture taken on Tuesday, May 26th.  More information to come.

When is the deadline for homework?

All missing homework is due on Monday, May 18th.  Any student that is not at a “Pass” grade for their academic class our teachers will be available by email and phone through Friday, May 29th to work with students to help raise their grade to a “Pass”.

What if I’m still an incomplete for a grade after Friday, May 29th?

You will be scored an “incomplete” on your transcript.  You will have until the end of the 1st quarter during the Fall 2020 term to complete all necessary work to earn credit with a “Pass”.  If you don’t submit necessary materials to earn a “Pass” by the end of the 1st quarter you will not receive academic credit and “did not complete” will be put on the transcript.  Will not affect GPA, but will affect graduation if high school students are short credits.

How and when can I retrieve items from my locker and PE locker?

On Monday, May 4th you may come to the school between 10am to 4pm to pick up your items.  We will have your belongings bagged and will bring them to your car.  Student belongings not pickup up by Friday, May 29th will be donated or thrown away.

Here are some other helful website tips that may come in handy.
