School Closings Information
In the event of a school closing for inclement weather or in case of an emergency, the Donovan School District will utilize the One Call Now automated telephone alert system to contact parents via a phone call or text to inform parents of school closings information as soon as possible.
Listen to WGFA radio (94.1 FM), WVLI radio (92.7 FM or 101.7) or WKAN radio (1320 AM) to announce school closings as they occur.
Parents: Please DO NOT call the school for school closings information.
If you are not receiving One Call Now alerts please contact Mrs. Legan at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign-up for the automated alert system.
2021-2022 School Registration for ALL students in grades PK-12
For those that have not already registered for the 2021-2022 school year

On Tuesday, August 10
From 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Due to the recent statewide school mask mandate, everyone who attends registration will be required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
Beginning with the 2021-22 school year, all schools must resume fully in-person learning for all student attendance days, provided that, pursuant to 105 ILCS 5/10-30.
Remote instruction will be made available for students who (1) have not received a COVID-19 vaccine or (2) who are not eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine, and (3) only while they are under quarantine consistent with guidance or requirements from a local public health department or the Illinois Department of Public Health.
1st Student Attendance Date is Thursday, August 19, 2021
On Wednesday, August 4, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced masks will be required for students, teachers and staff at pre-kindergarten-12th grade schools regardless of their vaccination status.
The mask requirement is inclusive of youth sports and activities, with masks now required for all indoor extracurriculars and sports. In line with CDC guidance, masks are not required for activities outdoors where transmission risks and rates are lower.
This announcement differs from the reopening plan our school district recently discussed. At this time, we will review the new rules and will be communicating a detailed plan similar to last years in the very near future.

Attention Parents & Caregivers:
The Donovan Community Unit School District will dismiss students every 2nd Wednesday of the month to allow all staff time for district training, staff meetings, and professional development. The Elementary school students will dismiss at 1:22 and the Jr/Sr high school students will dismiss at 1:30 on these days.

We have added this feature to ensure that no matter what building site you are visiting you always have access to the district level information you require. Here are some other helful website tips that may come in handy.
Tip #1: All of our district websites are color coded for ease of identification.

3. Red & White/Black=Junior High School

Tip#2: When selected, the following menu items will re-direct you back to the district website.
