Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to the exhilarating world of Kindergarten! This year is going to be one of excitement, learning, and great memories. I would first like to introduce myself. My name is Lane Walters. I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year. I will be observing, helping, teaching, and also learning from your child. This is my thirteenth year teaching. I recently taught for twelve years at Chebanse Elementary for the Clifton Central School district. I grew up in Martinton. I attended Donovan grade school, Jr. High, and High School. After high school I went on to play softball at Parkland College, attended Kankakee Community College, and then went on to graduate from Governors State University in University Park. In addition to graduating from Governors State, I have also obtained my Masters in Reading from Olivet Nazarene University. I had an amazing year last year and hope to have the same experience this year! I am extremely lucky to have been hired here at Donovan! I currently live in Martinton, with my husband Russell and our four children. Our children; Alexis (21), Griffen (14), Laylah Lou (12), and Prezley (7) keep us very busy.
I am extremely excited to work hand and hand with your child and help continue their growth as a student and an individual. We have many fun and stimulating activities to do this year with your child. Even though this year may look a little different than most, we are still going to have an amazing year! I will be sending a weekly letter home every Friday. This letter will help you understand what exactly is happening in K-1. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding my role as your child’s teacher. Communication between you, your child and myself is essential for a successful school year. I know we can work together as a team to make this the best school year for your child. You may call the school or e-mail me at the link below. I also encourage you to sign up on our class Dojo page. This will help keep you informed on the happenings in the world of Kindergarten! Once again I anticipate this year to be enjoyable and memorable.
